Overview

Located in the industrial zone of Iasi, ArcelorMittal Iasi is one of the leading manufacturers of longitudinally welded carbon steel tubes and cold formed profiles in Romania. The company was established 1963 and acquired by ArcelorMittal on its privatisation in 2003.

Covering an area of approximately 40 hectares, ArcelorMittal Iasi has an annual production capacity of 380,000 tons and employs 1,400 people. The company produces a variety of products for both local and international markets which are despatched by road, rail and sea (via the Danube and Black Sea).

Quality

ArcelorMittal Iasi manufactures its products according to national standards (STAS, SR EN) and most of the international standards (EN, DIN, BS, ASTM, ISO).

Highway crash barriers meet the provisions of the German standard, TL-SP 1999 and have been certified by the German quality body, TUV Berlin Brandenburg. Longitudinally welded, zinc-coated pipes are manufactured to the German standard, DIN 2440/2444. The company is authorised by the German quality organisation, DVGW Bonn, to use its quality sign for the installation of drinking water systems.

ArcelorMittal Iasi also holds the quality certification from the National Committee of Nuclear Activities Control in Romania for products used in nuclear power stations.
